Marble-looking worktops: 10 stunning new designs for 2023

Marble is a luxurious and elegant material that’s popular for kitchen worktops. But natural marble is pricey and not particularly practical in busy kitchens. Unfortunately, it scratches and stains easily and needs a lot of maintenance.

Luckily, plenty of marble-looking worktops are available, including marble alternatives from premium-quality brands. They’ve been carefully designed and expertly manufactured to look like the real thing.

Durable countertops that look like marble

This section looks at two sintered stone worktop brands: Dekton® and Neolith®. These brands make worktops from natural minerals by replicating how marble is naturally formed in the earth. This process results in a durable and maintenance-free worktop surface resistant to stains, UV light, scratches, and heat.

Dekton® Awake and Reverie

This marble-like worktop comes in two finishes. Awake has a polished finish, and Reverie has a velvet finish. But both designs are the same. These colours are made to mimic a natural Italian marble called Paonazzo stone. The design features an ivory background with striking thick veins in gradients of light greys, creams, rusty terracotta, and subtle inky blues.

Dekton® Limbo and Neural

This colour is perfect if you like your marble to be elegant but understated. The two colours are the same design, but Limbo has a polished finish, and Neural comes in either velvet or textured matte. This beautiful marble-looking worktop has a light cream-toned background with pale grey veins that run in the same direction.

Neolith® Arabesque

This marble alternative worktop colour is from Neolith’s® Classtone range. The design is inspired by Arabesque art, which uses strong repeating patterns. You can see this pattern in the bold grey veins that run throughout the surface, which are eye-catching against the light background.

Neolith® Niagara

Niagara’s design is inspired by Negro Marquina marble. A unique and luxurious marble with a jet-black base and shimmering, fluid white veins. This marble alternative has been designed to evoke images of the powerful, moving water of the Niagara River and waterfall… hence the name.

Quartz countertops that look like marble

This section looks at two quartz worktop brands: Silestone® and Caesarstone®. These brands make worktops from natural quartz minerals mixed with a small amount of resin. Quartz is more durable than marble as it’s resistant to stains and scratches, and it’s maintenance-free.

Here are a few of our favourite designs that make excellent alternatives to marble.

Silestone® Ethereal Haze

Ethereal Haze is a classic marble design with strong character. It has a soft white base colour with delicate veins in grey gradients merging with the background. It’s available in two finishes: polished, which makes the colour more vibrant and intense, and suede, which has a soft and pleasant feel.

Silestone® Ethereal Glow

Ethereal Glow is an alternative marble worktop like Ethereal Haze above. It has a nuanced white background with veins in elegant shades of gold and grey that stretch across the surface into every corner and blend beautifully into the base. This colour comes in a polished finish.

Caesarstone® Arabetto

Arabetto has a complex and exciting design. It features a swirling galaxy of dynamic grey stripes and speckles, interlaced with jade and copper tones on a crisp white background. In addition, this impressive quartz worktop has a smooth, polished finish.

Caesarstone® Darcrest

This quartz alternative to marble has a mysteriously dark and earthy base. Darcrest’s design is inspired by the look of erosion on a rocky hillside. Its tiny spots, sediments, organic ochres, and brownish greens are all interwoven into the design. And its appearance is enhanced by its honed finish.

Acrylic countertops that look like marble

In this section, we look at the acrylic brand HI-MACS®. Acrylic worktops are made from acrylic, pure natural minerals, and a reinforcing plastic resin. The material has many benefits over natural marble. It’s stain and impact resistant, is repairable and has seamless joins.

Here are a few acrylic marble alternatives from the HI-MACS® range.

HI-MACS® Aurora Angora

Aurora Angora is a stylish marble-looking worktop in a warm beige colour. Its dense veins, in varying shades of cream and beige, run in long streaks across the surface in the same direction. This alternative marble colour has a polished finish.

This elegant marble-like colour is full of sophistication. Its dominant hue is a crisp, bright white, but it features subtle swirls in varying grey tones that blend seamlessly into the background.
