Who makes Corian® kitchen worktops?
Corian® is made by a company called DuPont. They’re a large manufacturer that invented acrylic surfaces back in the 1960s. Due to having a patent on their product, for 30 years, they were the only acrylic solid surface manufacturer, so Corian® became well-known and popular.
Corian® is made from two-thirds natural minerals and one-third acrylic resin. And as well as for worktops, it’s used for a wide variety of applications in homes and commercial buildings, such as flooring, wall cladding and building facades.

Everyone wants their kitchen worktop to look fantastic. But it must also be practical and stand up to the wear and tear a busy kitchen throws at it.

This is one of the features that has made Corian® so popular. Seamless means when two pieces of worktop are joined, the seam is virtually invisible. So, the whole worktop looks like one continuous piece, even around corners.

Corian® is non-porous, so nothing can penetrate its surface to leave an engrained mark. Some strong substances may leave a surface mark if left for long periods, but they can easily be buffed out.
Corian® kitchen worktops are highly durable and can withstand the knocks and bumps of daily wear and tear. So, you don’t have to worry if you drop something heavy on the surface.
There’s nowhere for mould and bacteria to hide on a Corian® kitchen worktop, thanks to its non-porous surface and inconspicuous seams. So, when it looks clean, it really is clean!
Once Corian® is installed, there’s nothing to do other than clean it with soapy water after use. No additional maintenance is required.
Corian® comes with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. But it will last a lot longer than that.
One thing to be aware of, which is the same for all acrylic worktops, is that the surface can get scorched if hot pans are left on them. So, it’s best to protect the worktop with hot pan trivets. However, don’t panic if you accidentally scorch the surface because marks can be buffed out.

- Get a same day quote. Send us your kitchen dimensions, and we’ll send you a quote for all the colours in the Corian® range, so you can find one that suits your style and budget.
- Order some free samples. Choose up to four colours, and we’ll deliver them to your home within a few days.
- Place your order.
- We’ll measure your kitchen and make a worktop template. We’ll do it once your base cabinets are fitted. Here’s some advice on how to prepare for a worktop installation.
- We’ll make your worktop. We do this in our workshop, so there’s no cutting and mess at your home.
- We’ll fit your worktop. We aim to install your worktop a week (with a maximum of two weeks) after the template has been made.
