How to care for Neolith® countertops

Neolith® countertops are extremely hardwearing worktops which are easy to clean and maintain. And, because they’re stain, scratch, abrasion and temperature resistant, once they’re fitted, there’s very little for you to do other than clean them after use.

Read our tips on how to care for quartz worktops below.

How to clean Neolith ® countertops

General cleaning
To clean Neolith®, simply wipe the surface with warm soapy water or Cif Actifizz cleaner with a green and yellow washing-up sponge.

Removing aggressive stains
Thanks to Neolith’s® non-porous surface, nothing will permanently stain its surface. However, occasionally deeper cleaning may be needed. After installation, if any cement remains on the surface, use warm water or a very diluted acidic solution, such as diluted vinegar.

Take care with harsh cleaning chemicals
Some harsh or abrasive cleaning chemicals may damage the surface of your worktop. Therefore, do not use the following:

  • Cleaning chemicals in high concentrations
  • Hydrochloric acid
  • Cleaning chemicals with abrasive particles

Do not use an acidic cleaner on Neolith® when it has just been installed, as the acid could react with the cement glue and damage the joints. Always soak the surface with clean water before treating it with any type of chemical, and rinse with water immediately to remove any residue.

Don’t use specialist worktop cleaning products
Many specialist worktop cleaners claim to enhance the shine and protect worktops. However, we recommend you don’t use these for Neolith® countertops. This is because they can lead to a build-up of chemicals on the surface that can damage your worktop over time.

How to care for Neolith® countertops

Heat exposure
Neolith® is extremely temperature resistant, which means you can place hot pans, baking trays and hot electrical appliances directly on the surface without extra protection.

Avoid scratches
Neolith® is scratch-resistant, but it’s not scratch-proof. So, while it will withstand everyday scratches and scrapes, we recommend using a chopping board when cutting with sharp knives.
