Ceralsio care and maintenance

Ceralsio is a sintered stone material with excellent stain, scratch, abrasion, and temperature resistance. This makes it effortless to keep clean and maintain.

However, you can do a few things to keep your worktop hygienically clean and looking like new for decades. Simply follow the instructions below.

How to clean Ceralsio worktops

General cleaning
To remove dirt or dust, wipe the surface with a dry cloth, then clean it with CIF Actifizz or a similar cleaner using a green and yellow washing-up sponge. Afterwards, dry the surface with a cloth.

Removing aggressive stains
Ceralsio has a non-porous surface, so nothing will permanently stain your worktop. However, wipe stains away immediately before they dry if possible. For dried-on stains, soften the dirt with hot water, then remove it with a clean cloth. If a cleaning agent is needed, test it on a small, inconspicuous area first to check it won’t affect the worktop’s shine or colour:

Don’t use specialist worktop cleaning products

Many specialist stone worktop cleaners claim to enhance shine and protect your work surface. However, we recommend not using these on sintered stone. They can lead to a build-up of chemicals that damage your worktop over time.

Take care when handling chemicals

Always check the instructions when using any chemical products on your worktop. Some chemicals may not be suitable for use on stone, and some may need diluting.

How to care for your worktop

Heat exposure
Ceralsio is temperature-resistant, so you can place hot pans directly onto the surface without causing damage.

Avoid scratches
Although sintered stone is scratch-resistant, it’s not scratch-proof. So, use a wooden chopping board to cut food. If your worktop has a polished finish or is dark in colour, don’t drag metal objects directly across its surface.
