SEH Quartz care and maintenance
SEH Quartz is a scratch and stain-resistant worktop that’s easy to clean and maintenance-free. Quartz is a durable material, but there are some things you need to be aware of to keep it looking its best.
Follow the instructions below to maintain and care for quartz worktops.
How to clean SEH Quartz worktops
To remove dirt or dust, wipe the surface with a dry cloth, then clean it with Cif Actifizz or a similar cleaner using a green and yellow washing-up sponge. Afterwards, dry the surface with a cloth.
Removing aggressive stains
SEH Quartz has a non-porous surface, so nothing will permanently stain it. However, try to wipe up spillages immediately, especially wine, coffee, or anything acidic or alkaline based, as these may be harder to remove when left on the surface for a long time. If there is a mark, remove it with Cif cream or equivalent, rubbing the area gently in a circular motion.
Don’t use specialist worktop cleaning products
Many specialist worktop cleaners claim to enhance shine and protect your work surface. However, we don’t recommend using these for quartz. They can lead to a build-up of chemicals that can damage your worktop over time.
How to care for a quartz worktop
Do not expose to heat sources
Although quartz can withstand high temperatures for short periods, its performance can vary.
Therefore, we recommend always protecting the worktop from hot saucepans, baking trays, deep-fat fryers etc., with a hot pad or trivet.
Although SEH Quartz is scratch-resistant, it’s not scratch-proof. So, while it will withstand everyday scratches and scrapes, we recommend using a chopping board when cutting with sharp knives.
